Terminology related to Chinese Communist Propaganda

•    Propaganda - Propaganda generally defines as spread of ideas to promote a cause or damage an opposing cause.
•    Great Leap Forward - An ambitious program to shape the country with its huge population to a modern, industrialized nation after the pattern of Communist ideology.
•    Little Red Book- A book that was given to Chinese citizens at birth containing Mao Zedong's quotes, which often made no sense, but was nevertheless considered as important as the Bible at the time of the Chinese revolution.
•    Communism - A theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed tto the community as a whole or to the state.
•    Red Guards - A group of communists who followed Mao Zedong during the Cultural Revolutionto fight off the four olds.
•    "Four Olds" - Old ideas, cultures, customs and habits of how the Chinese used to live that Mao tried to destroy.
•    Cultural Revolution - Mao's final act in his last decade of power where he threatened the old ways so that he could get the younger generations to think about the future.
